Here I am with the 2nd free crochet pattern of this forest animals collection : a little basket to accessorize your amigurumis creations.
Abbreviations used in the pattern
- st : stitch
- ch : chain
- sc : single crochet
- inc : increase
- dec : decrease
Pattern reading and notes
- [xx] : the number between the square brackets shows the total stitches you should have at the end of the row/round.
- (xxx) x 2 : the instructions between brackets should be repeated across the round a certain number of times (in this instance : twice).
Main part of the crocheted basket
- Rd 1 : 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
- Rd 2 : inc in all [12]
- Rd 3 : (1 sc, 1 inc) x6 [18]
- Rd 4 : (2 sc, 1 inc) x6 [24]
- Rd 5 : (3 sc, 1 inc) x6 [30]
- Rd 6 : (4 sc, 1 inc) x6 [36]
- Rd 7 : (5 sc, 1 inc) x6 [42]
- Rd 8 : (6 sc, 1 inc) x6 [48]
- Rd 9 : (7 sc, 1 inc) x6 [54]
- Rds 10 – 15 : sc in all [54]
Fasten off.
Basket handle
Chain 7. Make 1 sc in the 1st stitch (it will be the 1st stitch of the 1st round).
Rds 1 – 22 : sc in all [7]
Fasten off, leaving a tail long enough to sew it to the basket. No stuffing needed.
Sew the handle to the basket.
